Ending the 2017-18 season at the BBC Proms on 31 August and opening the new season a week later in Leipzig, this autumn Semyon Bychkov will officially start his tenure as the new Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Czech Philharmonic.

Before returning to Prague however, September sees Bychkov give concerts with the Leipzig Gewandhaus on 6 and 7 September; the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich from 12-14 September; and the Berlin Philharmonic from 27-29 September. Composers featured include Glanert, Berg, Bruch, Mahler and Dvořák. For Berg’s Violin Concerto, Bychkov will be joined by Janine Jansen, and for Bruch’s Concerto for Two Pianos, Katia and Marielle Labèque .
