The beginning of February sees Semyon Bychkov visit five cities within the space of seven days as part of his European tour with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra this season. Bychkov conducts the Orchestra in Madrid (1 February), Luxembourg (3 February), Frankfurt (4 February), Paris (5 February) and Brussels (6 February), performing Strauss’s ‘Ein Heldenleben’, Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto with Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Nelson Freire, and Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto with Kirill Gerstein.

Before heading to Madrid to begin rehearsals for Wagner’s Parsifal at Teatro Real, Semyon Bychkov returns to the New York Philharmonic for the second time this season to conduct the Orchestra in four performances of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony from 11-13 and 16 February.
