This month, Semyon Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic embark on their second European tour of the year visiting France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Highlights of the tour include two performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 7 in Paris (18 October) and Luxembourg (19 October) which on returning to the Czech Republic at the beginning of November, they will record for their ongoing Mahler cycle for PENTATONE. The start of the European tour coincides with the release of the second album in the cycle – Mahler’s Fifth Symphony – on 14 October.

For the rest of the tour, repertoire will include music by Haydn, Shostakovich and Schumann, and guest appearances from Gautier Capuçon and Víkingur Ólafsson.
