On Wednesday 23 June, Semyon Bychkov conducts the world premiere of Bryce Dessner’s new orchestral work Mari in Zurich dedicated to Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic. The six concerts in total with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich will also feature Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 ‘Little Russian’ and Dessner’s Concerto for Two Pianos with dedicateees Katia and Marielle Labèque.
A week later, the same programme will be given by Bychkov in Leipzig when he’ll conduct the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig on 1-2 July.
Then, rounding things off for the season, Semyon Bychkov returns to Hamburg to conduct the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester in Mendelssohn’s Fourth Symphony and Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with soloist Leif Ove Andsnes (8-9 July).
