This month sees Maestro Bychkov return to Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 8 performances. On 16, 17, 18, and 21 April, he conducts the Orchestra in Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8 and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with soloist Daniil Trifonov. He presents a second programme featuring Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony from 23 – 26 April.

On May 1, Maestro Bychkov returns to the UK for the first time this season to conduct Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony with the Orchestra of the Royal Academy of Music. Later that week (7 May), he conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in the composer’s Fifth Symphony and soloist Isabelle Faust in Brahms’s Violin Concerto.

The latter half of May takes the Maestro to Paris to conduct the Orchestre National de France in Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8 and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 with soloist Alexandre Tharaud (21 May); and to Madrid to conduct Orquesta Nacionales De España in Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 (29 – 31 May).
