The BBC Proms have just announced their 2019 programme which will feature two appearances from Semyon Bychkov. On 11 August, he conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra in the UK premiere of Glanert’s Weites Land followed by Schubert’s Einsamkeit and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony. On 10 September, he appears at the BBC Proms for the first time with the Czech Philharmonic, presenting music by Smetana, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin Letter Scene.
